Creative Christmas Wreaths

Creative Christmas Wreaths

One of the best things about making wreaths for my gift shop is being able to hang them throughout our home this Christmas. I keep them on display so clients are able to see them as they might look in their own homes.

You can also hang wreaths throughout your home when you create your own using these ideas from BHG. I LOVE the wreath in the photo, using gift boxes in a variety of sizes to make a wreath. Such a colorful, cute & simple idea! Have fun! And craft on!

20 Magical Ways to Use Mason Jars This Christmas

20 Magical Ways to Use Mason Jars This Christmas

A wonderful friend gave me a box of old mason jars recently. I must be honest. I really haven’t done much with mason jars before. However, I was excited at the prospect of creating mason jar snow globes. I have made a few & have a few more to make. Or, I might just switch over & make some of these fun crafts from Country Living. I am ALWAYS looking for new ways to use old things and these ideas are fabulous!

You can enjoy using old mason jars. Or new mason jars. And you don’t even have to buy a whole box to do it. The dollar store in my neighborhood carries individual mason jars for, well, $1! So you can buy one or two & try out a few of these fun Christmas crafts. I warn you though, you will be heading back to the store for more jars faster than you can say “Chestnuts roasting on an open fire!”

Tip: After make 1-2 crafts with dollar store jars, should you decide to create multiples as gifts, price a box of jars from the local neighborhood hardware store. You may find the jars are less than a $1 each when purchased this way.

5 Clever—and Cheap—DIY Christmas Tree Alternatives

When Mr. D & I were first married, we could afford a Christmas tree. We also had no room for one. So we strung garland along the curtain rod in the living room & hung ornaments from it. Our presents went under the round table we used as a television stand. this worked well for us.

Not everyone can afford a tree, has room for a tree or perhaps WANTS a tree. this doesn’t mean you can’t have some type of tree with the help of Midwest Living & some ingenuity. Midwest Living shares 5 very clever (and cute) ideas for substitute trees. Even if you have a traditional tree (or more) you might still want to add one of these cuties!

One of the things I have learned making & selling my wreaths is that we all use a variety of colors to decorate our homes for Christmas. Red & green may be standard but they are by no means the only colors we use to celebrate Christmas. Christmas now allows us to incorporate all our favorite colors into our decorations. No matter what color combination you prefer, you can find it & use it to celebrate Christmas.

Woman’s Day agrees that any combination of colors can be used to create Christmas decorations. To help you discover new ways to use your favorite colors or to find new colors to use this Christmas, they have put together 18 decorations in vivid colors to use in your home! I’m sure you will want to add a few of these bright touches to your home this season!

What colors do prefer in your home? Are you a traditionalist or do you go way out with your color scheme? Do you add a few touches of bright & vivid colors or are all your decorations merry & BRIGHT? 45 Beautiful Holiday Wreaths

45 Beautiful Holiday Wreaths

I enjoy making & sharing my deco mesh wreaths. I know some wreath makers add more embellishments to their wreaths than I do. I keep my wreaths simple so my clients are able to personalize their wreath. They can add their own touches to give each wreath a unique look. Midwest Living seems to agree with my approach. They have put together a selection of wreaths you can make for your home this Christmas. Some wreaths are made from scratch. Others, like the wreath above, begin with a pre-made wreath to which you add your own touches.

I believe our Christmas decorations should reflect our tastes & even more important, our personalities. Make a statement this season with a wreath you personalize. It’s easier than you think.!
